Artlovers Artists Galleries St.Martin - Olivier Runembert
Born in France, in Arras in 1965 from a working family in the ‘Pas de Calais’ region. After a more than ordinary scholastic path he entered into the ‘Beaux Arts’ school of Douai in 1985.
The 90s see his aspirations turn to helping people in need. While still painting he goes on to setting up work shops of artistic expression in the realm of “singular arts”.Artistic passion and human compassion mix more and more leading him to specialized education for which he received a degree in 1998.
Convinced that there is art in all of us, he gives body and soul to pass on that message.
It’s on the African continent that for the first time he feels the desire to paint Man. On site, his tools always at hand, he paints frenetically, almost even obsessively.
Moved by a sudden urge to share his feelings he scratches, rips, and covers his canvas with the brightest of color settings. His wild passion is expressed through a multitude of colors mixing with no hesitation the violence of contrast with the smoothness of the simplest of lines.
As a Humanist Artist, Olivier Runembert witnesses and questions the own human condition of every one of us through his creations.
In May 2007 he takes off from mainland to land in the French West Indies on the island of Saint Martin, where he continues his quest…
